YANKEE HERO was an actual boat whose model is in the National Watercraft Collection of the Smithsonian. She is a craft known both as a 'Quoddy boat or an Eastport pinky. ENDEAVOUR -- Half hull 1934 J Boat -- One of the most graceful hulls ever built, this half hull wooden model is precisionally made in alternating layers of basswood and mahogany, with a chamfered 6" x 23" solid cherry backboard and brass nameplate. The protective coating brings out the decorative alternating basswood and mahogany layers.
